Fighting your battles the right way.

                           Be ready to fight your battles. 



Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. (I Tim 6:12)

                              How do I get my prayers answered? That seems to be the enigma within the body of Christ. On one hand, we have the promises of God to bless us but on the other, we have the circumstances talking to us and dictating the opposite. It is a fight, no doubt about it. Many of you may be hitting that wall but there is hope. Let's take a close look about the good fight of faith.
                              First, we are not taking the fight to Satan. Jesus has defeated him at the cross and he has been stripped naked. Our responsibility is to dress for success. Put on the whole armor and be ready to fight. Many times, certain battles just takes speaking the word--It is written and we add a verse to it. Victory comes as a result and we are rejoicing. The next time, another test comes, we use the same technique and nothing happens. We keep speaking the word until we turn blue in the face and nothing happens. Do we give up at this point and make a stupid excuse to justify this defeat? 
                              At this point, we bring this matter to the Lord as a mystery. We pray in tongues over this and listen to his voice. The word of God tells us that when we pray these mysteries to him, we should pray for the interpretation. (I Cor 14:2,13) I guarantee you that when we do this, he will bring an answer to us sooner or later. Brethren, another area to consider is our minds. Renewing the mind is so important to us. Thoughts, feeling and emotions is where Satan manipulates us if we let him. We need to control our thoughts in the heat of battle. 
                         We need to, constantly, fill our minds with the word so that worry nor anxiety does not rob us of our promises with God. We need to allow an image of victory that comes from our inner being (Spirit) and let it override our minds. When the soul (mind) and spirit work together, it is a powerful force.
The enemy wants our mind but we are not going to let him have it because it belongs to Christ. Bind the enemy and put him under your feet. 
                        The next battlefield is in court. Does not the word says enter into his courts with praise? This is the highest place in which you can take your battles. Many precious brethren have had petitions that have not been answered for 20 or 30 yrs. The buck stops at the court but we have to have a proper protocol in which to approach God and argue our case. How well do you know him?

 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death (Philippians 3:10) 

The question of the day---How well do you know him? Many reading this might be offended and reply--He is my Savior. To that, I say Amen but what I am talking about is his different characteristics. Do you know him as your Healer, Provider, Peace, etc? We have all heard the song--What a friend we have in Jesus. Surely, he is our friend. He listens to our complaints and concerns. He rejoices with us when we are glad and he weeps with us when we are sad. It is nice to know him as a friend but we need to know him as judge. 

                      No, I am not talking about judgement in a negative way. What I want to illustrate to you is to take your case to court. Recently, the Lord opened my eyes to knowing him as Judge. We are dealing with an outlaw spirit and, many times, we need to take our case to God. Yes, the word says that the enemy has been judged and that is true. Sometimes, speaking the word will settle the problem but when you are dealing with a circumstance that will not go away, that is the time to go to court. Let's look at the verse below....

Put Me in remembrance [remind Me of your merits]; let us plead and argue together. Set forth your case, that you may be justified (proved right). 
                               (Isa 43:26)

Folks, the court is fixed in our favor. The judge is our Father and the Son is our advocate. When we take our case to court, Satan nor circumstances does not have a chance. Recently, I have been blessed to know this and if you want to dig deeper into this, check out this link below and be blessed.

Stay within your calling.

"And they withstood Uzziah the king, and said unto him, It appertaineth not unto thee, Uzziah, to burn incense unto the Lord, but to the priests the sons of Aaron, that are consecrated to burn incense: go out of the sanctuary; for thou hast trespassed; neither shall it be for thine honour from the Lord God.

 Then Uzziah was wroth, and had a censer in his hand to burn incense: and while he was wroth with the priests, the leprosy even rose up in his forehead before the priests in the house of the Lord, from beside the incense altar.

And Azariah the chief priest, and all the priests, looked upon him, and, behold, he was leprous in his forehead, and they thrust him out from thence; yea, himself hasted also to go out, because the Lord had smitten him."

                                     (2 Chronicles 26:18-20)

                        The word for today is find your calling and stay in it. We, all, have a calling and assignment in our lives. As we study 2 Chronicles 26:18-20, we see an example of entering into the wrong calling. King Uzziah was a great king who was used of God in a mighty way. His calling was to be a King and use his leadership skills to bless Israel but something happened along the way. He, got sidetracked. I, personally, believe that he, probably, observed the Aaronic priesthood and their ways of worship. 

                             This, most likely, fascinated him. He, probably, felt like he should bring the censer to burn incense unto the Lord. His intentions might have been good but he forgot that this privilege was given to the descendents of Aaron, who were called to the priesthood. After a while, he took upon himself the duties of the priesthood. The priests, observing this, stood in his way. They tried to prevent the King from making the greatest mistake of his life.  Seeing this, pride rose up in King Uzziah's heart and he become angry. Suddenly, something happened---leprosy started to form in his forehead. 

                            How does that applies to us? Brethren, if you feel a calling for ministry, do not, just, jump in and do it. Our feelings can trick us much like King Uzziah. Our soul (Mind, will and emotions) need to fall in line with the word. (Heb 4:12) Hebrews 4:12 clearly tells us that God's word is like a sword and it separates soul and spirit. In other words, it is the final authority. 

                                 Next, confirm your calling with the church leadership. Finding a good church and Pastor is important because it keeps us from error. The word says that in the multitude of counsellors, there is safety. Do not take it upon yourself to start a ministry without taking the time to wait and confirming your calling. Take heed of what happened to King Uzziah. 

                                 Another way to confirm your calling is through the gifts that God has given you. Whether it be natural,spiritual or both, you have been endowed with special gifts,talents and skills to fulfill your calling. Once you enter into your calling and domain, you cannot help but excel.  Some people are like a fish out of water. They think because they have a desire to sing, they should sing in the choir but upon hearing them, it is plain that they do not have the gift to sing. Where he leads, he provides. 

                            God wants us to offer the best that we have in us to him. So, in this day, if you do not know your calling and assignment, find out. If you do know your calling but you feel led to enter another field of ministry, take heed. Talk to God about it and avoid a costly mistake.
