Walk Like An Egyptian.

Back in 1986, there was a popular song by the name Walk Like An Egyptian. It had some funny lyrics, and people were trying to dance to that song everywhere in the video. Today's topic: Are you walking like an Egyptian? Eph 5:15 says to walk circumspectly. The word from the Greek means exact, accurate, and diligent. We will also take a look at the 10 plagues and 10 idols from Egypt. Don't miss it.

Ways to deal with Grief.

Our spotlight is on the subject of grief. Let’s face it, we live in a fallen world, and suffering is real. The pain of losing a loved one or pet hurts. Many do not get over this process, which consumes them, resulting in death. We will look at how to deal with this pain and start a new beginning with the Lord.

My Personal Story

I came face to face with this reality a month ago when my father passed away. In fact, I thank God that he prepared me for this because he should have been dead a year ago. He was having problems with Dementia and severe intestinal issues. I credit the extension of his life to my Mom. She is a mighty prayer warrior.

I prepared for this a year ago because he was 94 years old. He was blessed to live a long life, and I was ready to let go. My mom, on the other hand, refused to let go. She stood in the gap for him and prayed. My main concern was my mom and her care for him. Thank God for my brother and sister, who lent her a helping hand.

Even with all this help available, it was wearing out my mom. I saw her body get worn and battered. Honestly, I felt some relief when my father died because it helped lift up that heavy burden from my mother. Yes, death is always sad, and she took it very hard. They were supposed to celebrate their 70-year anniversary in October, which was painful.

Let The Healing Begin.

In dealing with the pain of a loved one, there has to be a healing process. Friends, don’t take your loved ones for granted, especially those lost or backslidden. Pray and never stop believing in their redemption through Christ Jesus.

My Dad had accepted the Lord many years ago but strayed away. Upon his deathbed, he re-dedicated his life to Jesus. I am comforted that he is now walking the streets of gold with his Savior. Thinking about that brings relief and comfort even though we miss him.

While the grieving process is normal, it is not healthy to stay in that mode. There has to be the healing of a broken heart. I prayed for my mom to get that healing, and within a few days, she was comforted and strengthened. Enclosed below is a prayer for a broken heart. (1) You may not be going through the death of a loved one, but we have times in our lives in which our hearts are broken.

Having this in mind, I want to encourage you to pray it over yourself. It will give you the comfort that you need in your life. Remember, God is the God of new beginnings. I am adding a video family tribute (2) made for my Dad. His nickname was Manolo. The Spanish ending is translated as —Until we meet again. We will remember you always.

(1) Prayer for a broken heart–Father, I come to you because I have a broken heart. I ask you to remove any root of bitterness inside of me. I forgive those who have hurt me. I receive healing in all areas of my life. (Grief, sadness, and loss of a loved one). You said in your word that you have come to heal my broken heart. Lord, heal me now. Restore to me the joy of salvation. Bring laughter back into my life. I receive this now and am excited about my new beginning in life. You are the Lord of new beginnings, and I thank you for your comfort, in Jesus’ name-Amen.

Plunder Of War.

Greetings. Today we will look at the Plunders of War. Whether you know Jesus as your Lord and Savior, you are the result of a plunder of war. To better understand this concept, let's look at what happened at Salvation--

1-Jesus is the word and seed. (John 1;1,14, Luke 8:11)

2- Jesus's death brought reconciliation and Salvation to the world. ( Ps 2:8, 2 Cor 5:18-19) We were his plunders of war.

3- It's up to us to accept his gift of Salvation. We need to confess and receive Him as Lord.  (Rom 10:8-10) Failure to do so means rejecting his gift, making us an enemy of the Lord, and condemning us to a destiny of Hell and a Lake of Fire. In Middle Eastern culture, rejecting a gift was an offense and would create enmity.

4- Deut 20:13-14 and Deut 21:10-14 illustrates the beautiful process of Salvation. In battle, Women would be treated with respect as POWs. Many would get married and enjoy the benefits of that covenant. Please take some time to listen to the following links for more on this exciting topic. God bless.

The root of the problem.

Greetings. Here is a testimony from our sister Summer on how our teachings blessed her--I heard your teaching on "Delight Yourself in the Lord'. I have a testimony about that and God prospered me too.                                                                                                                                            When I needed a job and a place to live, I decided to delight myself in the Lord, be content in my situation and started to enjoy myself. Then immediately, doors opened for me and I got a job. Soon after that, someone offered me a place to live as a caregiver. Praise God !                                                                                                                        We welcome all your testimonies. For those who are participating in our free prize for this month, please listen to our podcasts and read our blog post for the week. Let us know how these teachings have blessed you. Your name will be entered into a drawing and God willing, we will announce the blessed winner on our Facebook livestream in the first week of August.                                                                                                            This morning, we will be looking at the root of the problem.  Have you ever had days in which everything was upside down? Rejoice!

Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. (Ps 37:4)

The word for today is Delight. Delight means to be joyous and happy. Trials and tribulations will come, but if we will look at the word, we will win. The word of God says that we are more than conquerors. Every trial and tribulation has an expiration date. We are destined to win in the end-so rejoice!

When we delight in the Lord, we will change our circumstances. Depression has to leave. A joyful Spirit will cause us to ascend to our mountain in victory with a shout! Caleb said-Give me this mountain and it became his inheritance. (Joshua 14: 6-13) Not all mountains are designed to be moved. Some are there for our inheritance!

So, let us bear this in mind. Delight is the word for today. No matter what comes, you are destined to win. Finally, Part 2 of time is continued on the following link ( https://bit.ly/3PXXmeY

Time

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:
A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;                                                                       Ecc 3:1-2

In this study, I want to focus on verse 2 that says a time to be born and a time to die. Concerning a time to be born, let's look at the birth of a child. The birth of a child is a happy occasion. Usually, when a baby comes into this world. It's a time of festivities, a time of rejoicing. Everyone is happy.

A time to die. Death is associated with sadness, loss, and grieving. We have homecoming funerals for the Christian believer, but that does not alleviate the sad feelings of joy. It leads to broken hearts, wounded emotions and great sadness. Some people never recover from a loss of a loved one.

I want to address the subject of having a long life. God wants us to have a long life. We don't have to walk in uncertainly or fear. Please join us and find out how God wants to bless us. Click the link below. God bless.

Be ready-Part 2

My wife Terry continues with her study about being ready. Matt 8:7-8 shows us the readiness of Jesus willing to go to the Roman Centurion's house to heal his servant. In verse 8, he tells Jesus to just speak the word and his servant shall be healed. We all know the end of the story. His faith got his servant healed, and Jesus marveled at this miracle.

My wife and I are grandparents. Our grandchildren live in Texas. If God forbid, one of our grandchildren gets sick, she can't just get on an airplane and go to Texas and lay hands on them. All she could do is pray for them over the phone. They know that Grandma is going to pray and things are going to happen.

Why? Because his promises are always yea and amen. (2 Cor 1:20) These and many other examples are in today's podcast. Please join us. We would be honored to have you join our study by clicking on the link below. God bless.

Be Ready-Part 1

2 Tim 4:2 says-- Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.

The first thing is to preach the word. We should be ready to share the word with others. Being ready is a necessity because you never know who could cross your path. We should always preach the word and bring correction if necessary.

The preaching of the word should not be the sole duty of your Pastor. You are the hands and feet of your church. You need to be ready to bring forth the word. We all have a part in bringing forth the great commission.

Being in the word is important. In life, we have unexpected situations. We need to learn to be led by the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will often bring forth a change of plans in our lives.

We need to be sensitive to the leading of the Holy Spirit. We would be honored if you would join us. Please click on the link below. There is a lot that God wants to share with us through Pastor Terry's teaching of the word. God bless.

How to make the word come alive!

Let’s face it. We all have our struggles-But there is light at the end of the tunnel. You can live a life full of victory with the Lord Jesus. This past week, we focused on the subject of confessing the word. We must practice the meditation of God’s word in our lives regularly.

Ps 119:11 states that-Thy word (God’s word) have I hidden in my heart that I might not sin against thee. When we think of sin, we associate it with Murder, Adultery, Child-abuse, etc. Yes, that is sin, but that is not all. To get a better picture, let's add unbelief, worry, and gossip, to name a few “permissible” sins tolerated in the church. Sin is sin, but we can live a life of victory in the Word.

We need to feed on the word of God. Jeremiah 15:16 says that thy words were found, and I did eat them. How do we eat the word? We do so by confessing and hearing it until it gets down deep into our Spirit. (Josh 1:8) At first, it may be boring. At times, your mind will wander as you perform this exercise.

A good rule of thumb is to start controlling your thoughts. Bind those distractive thoughts to the obedience of Christ and release his power by using the principle of binding and loosing. (Matt 18:18) Decide to focus your thoughts on the word.

Also, start praising the Lord before you meditate on the word. Jer 15:16 says in the later verse that it was the joy and rejoicing of his heart. Receive the word with a grateful heart. Do not look at the confession of God’s word as a burden; receive his word with joy.

It will prepare your heart to start the process of planting that seed. It may take a while to see a manifestation of God's promises, but do not give up! Diligence and patience are the key words to remember. Once you confess the word and put your mind to it, your growth will take you to new heights.

I recommend doing it for 30 days straight, avoiding distractions, and you will see some results. Afterward, do not stop; keep on confessing the word for as long as the Spirit leads-It can be an addictive experience. Enclosed I have included some helpful links below.

Join us on our Facebook page- The Christian Corner community church 56. God willing, we will have evening prayers on confessing the word Monday-Wednesday at about 11:45 pm. I am expecting to hear some exciting testimonies soon. God bless.

Are you an Agent of Shield?

Greetings. Are you an agent of Shield? Spy Thrillers are nothing new. Some of my favorites were James Bond, Mission Impossible, and Man from Uncle. As a Comic Book fan, I remember a particular Comic book Series named Nick Fury, Agent of Shield.

It was full of excitement and suspense and featured the latest state-of-the-art gadgets. Serving God is no different. He is Our Shield. We are his Agents of Shield, and our lives can take on a path of excitement and suspense while we serve him. There is no boring day serving the Lord. Find out how in this video.

Why Your Prayers are not answered.

Greetings. Are you having a hard time getting your prayers answered? You are not alone. We have all been there. Let's look at the verse below--

Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content. (Phil 4:11)

The Apostle Paul was writing this letter from jail. He could have complained, but he did not. He said that he was a prisoner of the Lord. (Eph 4:1) He refused to allow the circumstances to dictate his level of Joy.  He had control of his mind, will, and emotions.

He captured his thoughts and arrested them, conforming them to the obedience of the Lord! He refused to complain because he trusted in the Lord. He learned the secret of being content. Let's learn from Paul's example.

Complaining will get you nowhere. It will open the door to severe consequences. When you pray, what are your motives? Will it be used for the glory of the Lord or for yourself? Many of our prayers are not answered because our motives are not right. (James 4:3)

Please click on the video link below to learn more about the power of contentment. God bless.

Don't have a Grasshopper mentality!

And there we saw the giants, the sons of Anak, which come of the giants: and we were in our own sight as
grasshoppers, and so we were in their sight. (Numbers 13:33)

The question to ask today is–Do you have a grasshopper mentality? To understand this, we must return to where this all began. The Jews were under servitude by the cruel Egyptians. During this crucial time, God raised a savior named Moses to lead them into the promised land.

One interesting note is that no one was sick when Moses led his people out of Egypt. They also had Silver and Gold with them. (Ps 105:37) What caused them to be blessed? They set aside a lamb for each household and ate of it. (Exodus 12:1-21) That Lamb was symbolic of Jesus-The Lamb of God.

As they ate the Lamb, it became the Passover meal. Jesus (The Lamb of God) says to eat his body and drink his blood. We know that as communion. So, when the Jews ate the kidneys of the Lamb, Kidney diseases were healed. When they ate the heart, Heart diseases were healed, etc. Jesus was the Second and last Adam, so Poverty was dealt with, hence the Silver and the Gold blessing.

So, as we read of this tremendous deliverance, they had to cross the desert. Why? We cannot avoid testing and trials. They are going to come whether we like it or not. What we must do is be patient and listen to God’s instructions. Moses wanted to take them out to the wilderness to celebrate the feast of the Lord. Interestingly, in the Spanish Bible, the word feast is “Fiesta,” which means Party.

God had revealed to his people his intention of blessing them with a land of milk and honey. (Exo 3:8) I can imagine the expression on their faces. Lands and homes are just for the taking. There was one problem. There were giants in the land. Despite God telling them that the land was theirs for the taking, they went by what they saw instead of receiving God’s promises.

As we see in Numbers 13:33, they called themselves grasshoppers instead of God’s giant killers. As you read this, You need to ask yourself one question. Do you have a grasshopper mentality, or are you God’s giant killer? Let’s start with the mind. The Bible says that you have the mind of Christ. The word Christ means the yoke-breaking, burden-removing power of God.

Are you having health issues? Is having money a big problem in your life? Are you having sleep issues and no peace? I have good news if you are born again yet experiencing the above issues. You have the mind of Christ. You have a genius that lives on the inside of you!

The problem is activating that mind to work for you. Such happened with the Corinthian church. These people loved the Lord and were being used in signs, wonders, and miracles, yet they faced carnality and worldly living issues in the church. ( 1 Cor 2:14)

When you activate the natural carnal being within you, you start to see yourself defeated, overcome by fear, and negative towards life. A carnal mind will make wrong and harmful decisions, and just because you are born again doesn’t mean you will not make bad decisions. How do we activate the mind of Christ within us? The word says to call those things that are not as though they were. (Rom 4:17)

Read and study the life of Abraham. He is defined in the Bible as the father of faith, but he was not perfect. He made some mistakes, and it took 25 years or more to get his miracle manifested. If we can learn from his mistakes and how not to repeat those errors, we can see a quicker manifestation of God’s miracles in our life.

Summing it up, you have a miracle in your mouth. You will see changes as you confess God’s word over your life situations. It’s time to stop having a grasshopper mentality and start thinking about killing your giants. Your land of milk and honey awaits you.

Note: If you are not born again, God has a plan and destiny for you. I invite you to pray and let him come into your heart. Click on the link below…. https://thechristiancornerorg.wordpress.com/2021/02/01/the-sinners-prayer/

Are you taking his yoke?

Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light. (Matt 11:28-30)

The above verse is an interesting one. When Jesus discussed the subject of his Yoke, he was trying to draw an interesting analogy. During his time on earth, his society was one of an agricultural nature. As he mentioned the word "Yoke," his mind most likely drifted to a picture of two oxen united by a wooden yoke.

As we previously discussed in our past studies, we discussed two types of Yokes-

  • A Wooden Yoke---Wood is symbolic of the flesh. This Yoke was used for Oxen to plow the ground. (I Cor 3:11-15)
  • Iron Yoke--Used on POWs (Prisoners of War). Symbolic of Satanic Oppression and Slavery. It was an Iron Metal collar around the neck. God's power can break any yoke. (Isa 10:27)

In Matt 11:28-30, Jesus is inviting us to put on his Yoke. As we read on, he mentions the word soul. What is the soul? The soul involves the Mind, Will, and Emotions. Our minds need to be renewed into the pattern of Christ. The word says that we can have the mind of Christ!

Now let's address the Wooden Yoke and its symbolism. A wooden Yoke is our flesh. It will be with us until we die. Will we let us control us, or will we put it under the Spirit? Just as the Ox has another of his kind at his side bearing the burden, so is the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is our helper. He will help you control the flesh to do God's will. God wants to take our wooden Yoke and make it his own. Praise God! For more on this and other exciting subjects, tune in to today's Bible Podcast. You are sure to be blessed. (Link provided below) God bless!
