The sun will shine again!
Wisdom is available for you today!
Has life's problems been getting you down? Relax, be happy and don't worry. God's got the answer to all your problems. Today, we are beginning a new series on the book of Proverbs. Proverbs is known as the book of wisdom. Most of it was written by King Solomon, who besides Jesus, was known to be the wisest man on earth during his time.
These teachings are timeless and very valuable even to us. When you spend time in prayer and studying the book of Proverbs, you will be surprised at the wisdom that God will give you. Let's start with the following verses--
"These are the proverbs of King Solomon of Israel, David's son. He wrote them to teach his people how to live-how to act in every circumstance" (Proverbs 1:1-2--New Living word)
We see in these two verses, that it starts with the introduction of the author--King Solomon. It, also, states the purpose of the book--To teach his people how to live and how to act in EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE! I, purposely, highlighted two main words--EVERY CIRCUMSTANCE. How many times do we face a series of circumstances that will side track us? Circumstances that will get us discouraged and steal the word of faith that God has put inside us.
Notice in Proverbs 1:7, it states--How does a man become wise? By the fear of the Lord. In the King James version, it says that the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge. It is not academic nor worldly knowledge. It is a knowledge from on high. It is revelation knowledge. The knowledge that you receive when you became born-again. The knowledge to unearth God's hidden treasures that is in you so that you can find answers to life's toughest problems.
When we approach God with trust and reverence, he will make his word known to us. He will show us how to access the mind of Christ that is inside of you to obtain revelation knowledge of his word on your behalf. The word Christ is the anointing (Power) of God to destroy yokes (Bondages) and removes burdens (Stress, anxiety, worries, etc)(Ps 2:2, Isa 10:27)
As we study Proverbs 1, King Solomon gives us some examples of how to act wisely. In Proverbs 1:8-9, it talks about the role of the parents. It, also, gives us a wider picture of the church and God's spiritual family. The Father represents Our Heavenly Father and the Mother symbolizes the church. Brethren, church attendance is a must for the believer. It is a way that God has designed for his people to develop wisdom and revelation knowledge.
So, if you are in a church, pray for your Pastor. God has, yet, to reveal his treasures unto you through the church. If you don't have a church home, pray that God will reveal where he wants you to be. Let us not be foolish and go our own way. We need each other. Iron sharpens Iron. Let's follow the instructions from the book of Proverbs and obtain God's wisdom for you today. God has designed us to be problem solvers. Remember you have the mind of Christ. Be encouraged!
