What are you speaking today? Part II
" We having the same spirit of faith, according as it is written, I believed, and therefore have I spoken; we also believe, and therefore speak" (II Cor 4:13)
When we think of faith, some people have a twisted meaning of it. They think your faith may be your place of worship. Others may understand their devotion to God, but what does the word says? The word say that when you have a spirit of faith, you will speak it. In other words, you will release the confidence of God having heard your prayers.
When Jesus rose Lazarus from the dead, he did not pray any long prayers. I am not against long prayers, but it has its place. Jesus knew what the will of the Father was. Jesus saw in his spirit the end result. He had the spirit of faith and spoke it. Let's look at this verse---" Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead was laid. And Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, Father, I thank thee that thou hast heard me." (John 11:41).
It amazes me that Christians go by their feelings or what they see. They think that they got to keep on asking and asking. If they persist in this, sooner or later they will get an answer.(Matt 6:7) Nothing could be further than the truth. Jesus spoke of vain repetitions. When you keep asking God for the same thing, you are forming in your spirit an image of you not having the desired results.
Praise is the root of Faith. When you water that seed with the word and thanksgiving, it will grow and give you the results desired. In fact, we need to focus our prayers from a place of victory than for victory. The word says that God has given us all things that pertain to this life. (II Peter 1:3) In this day, familiarize yourself with God's wonderful promises and practice activating your faith today. Remember that you already have it and your job is to reach from the natural to the spiritual! Faith will make it possible! God bless!
Prayer-Dear Lord, help me to develop strong faith. Help me to know what belongs to me. Your promises are yea and amen. Help me to take what belongs to me. Give me revelation knowledge to see the end results. Thank you for strengthening me in my faith. In Jesus name-Amen!
What are you speaking today?
" Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." (Prov 18:21)
Greetings. In this day, we all have to make decisions in life. There are some decisions in which we need God's help. Sometimes, our emotions and bias could cause us to make wrong choices. Case in point were the Religious leaders who crucified Jesus. They had a bone to pick.
Sure, they knew all about prophecy and about the Lord, but, they had allow mixture to creep in. Plus, they enjoyed the power with the Roman government and with the people. They had it made until Jesus came on the scene and rocked the boat. Outsmarting them at every turn, Jesus relied on the wisdom from above.
He, even, called them to the carpet. Calling them hypocrites and generations of vipers. Contrary to popular belief, Jesus used to gather a multitude of people when he talked. He operated in signs and wonders, while the religious leaders preached a gospel with no substance. Instead of humbling themselves, repenting and agreeing with Jesus, they chose to harden their hearts.
They focused on their hurts and anger. Their emotions caused them to lose all reason and say something that would hurt them and their descendants. Let's look at the following verse----
" Then answered all the people, and said, His blood be on us, and on our children." (Matt 27:25)
What a tragedy. A tragedy because these words would bring about a curse. In about 76 AD, Jerusalem got destroyed! The Romans killed many Jews, including the religious leaders. Time has shown that after many years, the Jews have been persecuted and killed. Why? Because of words spoken years ago. A precious thing like the blood became a curse to them.
So, brethren, let's think before we speak. We need to ask ourselves--ARE WE SPEAKING LIFE OR DEATH! Remember that God's word says that the wholesome tongue is a tree of life. In future studies, we will study on how to use the tongue to speak blessings to our lives. God bless!
A whole lot of shaking going on!
Win in the game of life!
" And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness." (Acts 4:31)
How is your prayer life with the Lord? Is it boring or routine? Is your church prayer group lacking excitement? Acts 4:31, states that when the apostles prayed, the place was shaken! That would wake up the daylights out of anybody. Another thing to see is that they got filled (again) with the Holy Ghost. By reading this, it was evident that the circumstances and problems drained them out of Holy Ghost power. Remember in Acts 2, they had, previously, been filled with the Holy Ghost!
I want to challenge you to expect good things to happen at your prayer meetings. We serve a God of surprises and when you get connected with him, prayer meetings can be a source of excitement!! Another thing to ask yourself is---Are you doing the shaking or is life's circumstances shaking you? Let's look at this verse----
" Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear"
(Heb 12:26-28)
This world is doing a lot of shaking. The real estate market is going thru a shaking! Nations and kingdoms are going thru shakings, especially in the Middle East! The economy is going thru a shaking, but we need to do a lot of shaking in the Spiritual realm. We need to get violent and shake that which belongs to us. We need to cause a spiritual earthquake in the kingdom of darkness and take which is ours. In this day, decide that your prayer life is going to be different. Decide that you will shake the kingdom of darkness and take what is yours. God bless!
Prayer---Father, thank you for speaking to me. Help me to not look at my circumstances but be filled with your spirit. Your word says that the violent take it by force. Help me to not be on the defensive but on the offensive. Help me to shake the kingdom of darkness and take what is mines. Right now, I claim lost souls of those in high places of authority to come to Jesus. I claim my loved ones to come to Jesus. I claim this nation for Jesus. I bind the God of this world and put him under my feet. I,also, claim healing and finances to be restored to me in Jesus name. Sickness and lack, I bind you and send you to the pit of hell. I take back seven times what you, Satan, hath stolen from me. I am shaking the kingdom of Darkness. I am violent in Jesus name and am more than a conqueror....In Jesus name. Amen!
Don't let money blind you!
"Now when they were going, behold, some of the watch came into the city, and shewed unto the chief priests all the things that were done.
And when they were assembled with the elders, and had taken counsel, they gave large money unto the soldiers,
Saying, Say ye, His disciples came by night, and stole him away while we slept.
And if this come to the governor's ears, we will persuade him, and secure you.
So they took the money, and did as they were taught: and this saying is commonly reported among the Jews until this day." (Matt 28:11-15)
These verses have a lot to say about money. There is a saying--"Money talks!" Money can blind you. Money can pervert righteous judgement. Money in itself is not evil, but it can be a tool to either do right or wrong.
As you read these verses, the guards that were watching the tomb of Jesus saw a miracle. They saw the stone where Jesus was lying moved by a angel. Mind you, this stone was no light thing. It was heavy and secured, plus it was guarded. I can imagine when this angel came down, white and shining in countenance, took the stone. He, then, unsecured the rock and moved it aside. A sight like that would have anyone shaking in their boots.
The word says that they became as dead men. They were, probably, on the floor hoping that this angel would do them no harm. As soon as it was over, the word says that some, not all, came to the high priest with that report. What happened to the ones that did not come to the high priest? Did some refuse the money? Did some stand their ground and joined the disciples in Acts 1? It is not clear what happened to the others, but I like to think that down the road, they might have joined the disciples and preached Jesus!
This shows a tragedy. Tragedy because the men of the watch missed an opportunity to change their lives, families and community. They allowed the love of money to pervert their judgement. A soldier in those days were not paid much, so it is easy to understand their need of money. Another factor that might have affected their judgement was the religious leaders political connections. Those connections might have stirred the fear of man inside them and could have influenced their decision. The fear of man was bigger than the fear of God!
The religious people, also, lost a great opportunity. They could have repented and accepted this miracle. It would have changed their lives, but they hung on to their religious traditions and beliefs. The control of the people and their political connections were more important than following Jesus.
In life, money can change our judgement. I have seen it time after time, when a Pastor would preach against sin. Offerings and tithes would go down and the Pastor would change its message because his/her pocketbook was affected. Another example is a Christian who wants to change jobs because of not making enough. God may have a plan to use him/her, but because of not seeing the big picture, they change jobs and miss out on God's best.

Avoid distractions and come up to the mountain!
" And he said, Men, brethren, and fathers, hearken; The God of glory appeared unto our father Abraham, when he was in Mesopotamia, before he dwelt in Charran, And said unto him, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and come into the land which I shall shew thee. Then came he out of the land of the Chaldaeans, and dwelt in Charran: and from thence, when his father was dead, he removed him into this land, wherein ye now dwell." ( Acts 7:2-4) (KJV)
Acts 7:2-4 gives us some information on Abraham. First it says that God appeared to Abraham when he was in Mesopotamia. This was before he dwelt in Charran (Haran in Gen 11:31), but if you study Gen 12:1-4, you'll find that God appeared to Abraham in Haran, giving us the impression that it was a first time visitation. Actually, God had visited Abraham two times---One in Mesopotamia and one in Haran.
Mesopotamia is located in modern day Iraq, So, Abraham was really a Iraqi who was used of God to form a nation! Think of it---One man's obedience helped formed a nation. That is why obedience to God is so important. It can affect you and your seed. Abraham's obedience helped formed a nation and birthed a generation that would give us our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Now let's address God's visitation to Abraham. Why did he visit him two times? Let's look at some factors. When Abraham had a first time visitation from God, he doubted.
You got to realize according to Biblical history, Mesopotamia was a region where idolatry was all over the land. Another factor was family ties. Family was a man's security. Outside of that, your life was in danger and you were guaranteed a life of poverty. Abraham shared this vision with his father. That was a no-no. Friends, when God visits you, be careful with who you share it with.
Family ties runs deep. There is a saying--Blood is thicker than water and being with family is no exception. That is why we need to follow God and not give in to family pressure. Family is good and it is a blessing from God but when it comes to following God or family, we must choose God!
I have seen it, especially in churches where the Pastor's family is half the church membership. Sometimes, pressures comes from loved ones and the Pastor winds up making bad judgments concerning the church. A case in point with one church, A Pastor's son was not walking right. A church member called this to the Pastor's attention. The Pastor winded up defending his son and rebuking the church member. A true sad state of affairs.
Now getting back to our lesson concerning Abraham, he reasoned that maybe the family needed to be with him ---just in case. Just in case, he ran into trouble with another tribe. His reasoning was that he needed provision on the other side. So, he talked to his father. There is one good thing in all this-At least his father agreed and it seemed that maybe Abraham felt relieved in taking his family to the journey. As you read Gen 11:31, there were going to Canaan, which is the land that God wanted to give him. But what happened?
As they took their journey, they encountered, most likely, some hardships and settled in Haran. While in Haran, they observed that the lifestyle was comfortable and were, probably, making some money. So, Terah reasoned with his son that maybe they should stay in Haran-- BIG MISTAKE! That delay cost Terah's (Abraham's father) life. He died in Haran but God was not finished with Abraham. He is a God of a second chance. He knew Abraham doubted but thank God, he never gave up dealing with him.
An interesting detail to observe in this lesson is that Terah in the Hebrew means delay. God knew that even though Terah would agree that this was a divine visitation, there would be delays and obstacles. He saw how Terah would stand in his way when they got to Haran. While in Haran-- Terah, Abraham and family got comfortable. They were most, likely, at ease. Years had passed and tragedy came--Terah died!
Friends, don't wait until something tragic happens and then seek God. Don't allow the cares and distractions of life to get you so sidetracked that you do not pay attention to God's call in your life. Fix your eyes on him. It is, also, interesting that the word "Haran" means Mountaineer. We have heard teachings on speaking and removing the mountains of life, but not all mountains needs to be removed. There is one mountain---Mount Zion-- where dwells the city of God. That is the mountain we must climb. We are citizens of heaven and we need to learn how the kingdom operates. (Heb 10:22)
We need to ascend above all human reasoning, circumstances, things and desires to seek his face. We must learn to love what he loves and hate what he hates. This can, only, be done as we come up to the holy mountain of God Are you willing to climb up to greater heights with God? Are you ready to become a mountaineer with God?
It is interesting that only after Abraham climbed this spiritual mountain at Haran that he heard God again. What did God tell him? "Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father's house, unto a land that I will shew thee: And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing: And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed." (Gen 12:1-3)
In this second visitation, God gave extra details as to why Abraham needed to obey. A nation was in the balance. So in this day, ponder on the word obedience. A lot may be in the balance for you, family and nation! God bless!
Father, thank you for speaking to me. Help me to have a better focus on life. Show me what is delaying my purpose and calling in life. I am your sheep and I hear your voice. My steps are ordered from you. Thank you, Lord, for your mercies are new each day so I trust in you. Guide me and lead me is my prayer in Jesus name---Amen!

The Ephesians prayers!
The prayer of Ephesians is a powerful prayer and whether you agree with my teachings or not, this prayer is one that every believer should pray before his/her Bible studies. Instead of fighting one another, we should be praying this prayer for ourselves and the body of Christ. I guarantee that if we do this, we will see many receive the revelation of God and his word! I have personalized this prayer so that, whosoever will, shall pray this prayer before their Bible study-God bless!
God of our Lord Jesus Christ , the Father of glory, may give me the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: The eyes of my understanding being enlightened that I may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power, Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places, Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come , And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church, Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
For this cause, I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named. That he may grant me, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man. That Christ may dwell in my heart by faith; that I, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height; And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that I might be filled with all the fulness of God. Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that I ask or think, according to the power that worketh in me, Unto him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen.

Are you ready to die?
" And Jesus cried again with a loud voice and gave up His spirit. And at once the curtain of the sanctuary of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom; the earth shook and the rocks were split. The tombs were opened and many bodies of the saints who had fallen asleep in death were raised [to life]; And coming out of the tombs after His resurrection, they went into the holy city and appeared to many people. (Amplified--Matt 27:50-53)
I know that my title will draw some attention, but again I ask the question----Are you ready to die? Death is not a pleasant subject. Nobody likes to talk about it. We tend to put it in the back of our minds, but death is a reality.
o talk about death in the spiritual sense. A deatIf you are saved, you have an anointing inside of you, which can get to its maximum level when you die to self. Elisha the prophet had such a strong anointing that even after his death, his bones brought life to a dead man. (II Kings 13:20-21) I deal with requests for prayer as a Minister of the Word. Many are worried and stressed out, but, if they knew that they have the precious promises of God, life would be so different. God knows the end from the beginning and he calls us more than conquerors.
In fact, we need to kill the old man and take him back to memory lane. To the time when we were baptized in water and buried him there. Brethren, that is why baptism in water is so important. That is the place where you made a covenant with God. The word of God says to put on Christ, and that includes arming yourself with his armor. (Romans 13:14, Eph 6:10-18)Water Baptism is the place where you buried the old man and took off his clothes. If the old man has resurrected again, take off his clothes and kill him. Take him back to memory lane. Remind him that he is buried in the waters of baptism; take off his clothes and put on Christ.

People pay big money for memories. In the 90's on late night tv, you would see commercials on songs of the '60's and '70's taking you to that first love...to those high school days; how much more should we do it with Jesus? He is our first love! He is our everything. Understanding the importance of death in Christ and the potential for anointing should help us to strive to the point of excellence. Today, unleash the power inside of you by partaking of his death! Great surprises and wonders will be yours for a lifetime.
Prayer--Dear Lord, help me to die to self. In this day, I say Let thy will be done. I want to hear what you plan for me today. If I have gotten lukewarm, stir up the fire within me. Make me red-hot for you. Thank you, Lord for hearing my prayers. In Jesus name, amen.
